Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today the Second All-Star Teams for the 2023-24 WHL season.

WHL Division All-Stars are voted upon by WHL General Managers.

WHL Central Division Second All-Star Team

Goaltender - Reid Dyck (Winkler, Man.) - Swift Current Broncos

Defence - Noah Chadwick (Sasktoon, Sask). - Lethbridge Hurricanes

Defence - Marc Lajoie (St. Albert, Alta.) - Edmonton Oil Kings

Forward - Oliver Tulk (Gibsons, B.C.) - Calgary Hitmen

Forward - Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, Alta.) - Medicine Hat Tigers

Forward - Andrew Basha (Calgary, Alta.) - Medicine Hat Tigers

WHL Central Division Second All-Star Team Biographies

Goaltender - Reid Dyck (Swift Current Broncos): The 20-year-old prospect of the Boston Bruins played a vital role in the Broncos claiming their first Central Division title since the 1995-96 season, posting a record of 25-7-2-0 with a 2.70 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and two shutouts. The 6-foot-5, 193-pound puckstopper was named Giuseppe WHL Goaltender of the Week on two occasions (February 5 and February 26). Selected by the Bruins in the sixth round (183rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Dyck owns a career record of 49-46-5-1 with four shutouts in 106 career WHL Regular Season appearances. The product of Winkler, Man., was originally selected by the Broncos in the third round (45th overall) of the 2019 WHL Draft.

Defence - Noah Chadwick (Lethbridge Hurricanes): The 18-year-old prospect of the Toronto Maple Leafs recorded a career campaign in 2023-24, notching 56 points (12G-44A) to finish tied for 10th in scoring among all WHL defencemen. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound product of Saskatoon was selected by the Maple Leafs in the sixth round (185th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. Originally chosen by the Hurricanes in the second round (38th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Chadwick has skated in 146 career WHL Regular Season games, accruing 79 points (19G-60A) along the way.

Defence - Marc Lajoie (Edmonton Oil Kings): The 20-year-old product of St. Albert, Alta., finished third in scoring among all Oil Kings with 58 points (26G-32A) in 68 games. Acquired from the Tri-City Americans on May 11, 2023, Lajoie served as an alternate captain for the Oil Kings. In 283 career WHL Regular Season games, the 6-foot-6, 223-pound defenceman recorded 151 points (52G-99A). Lajoie was originally selected by the Tri-City Americans in the first round (14th overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft.

Forward - Oliver Tulk (Calgary Hitmen): With 40 goals and 80 points in 66 games, the product of Gibsons, B.C., led the Hitmen in scoring during the 2023-24 season. The 5-foot-9, 178-pound centre enjoyed four-point games on four outings, recording 19 multipoint games over the course of the entire season. Originally selected by the Hitmen in the first round (12th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Tulk has logged 159 points (73G-86A) in 197 career WHL Regular Season games.

Forward - Oasiz Wiesblatt (Medicine Hat Tigers): With 91 points (26G-65A) in 63 games, the 19-year-old Wiesblatt finished second in scoring on a high-flying Tigers squad. Wiesblatt's 65 assists represent a career high, obliterating the previous mark of 34 he set during the 2022-23 season. Originally selected by the Tigers in the first round (12th overall) of the 2019 WHL Draft, Wiesblatt has collected 185 points (65G-120A) in 218 career WHL Regular Season games.

Forward - Andrew Basha (Medicine Hat Tigers): The 18-year-old Basha finished third in scoring on the Tigers with 85 points (30G-55A) in 63 games. The 6-foot, 185-pound left winger enjoyed a season-high 11-game point streak from November 22, 2023 through December 27, 2023, recording 21 points (9G-12A). The product of Calgary, Alta., was named Tempo WHL Player of the Week on November 27, 2023. Originally selected by the Tigers in the fifth round (105th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Basha is listed 18th among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting's midterm rankings for the 2024 NHL Draft.
