Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today the Second All-Star Teams for the 2023-24 WHL season.

WHL Division All-Stars are voted upon by WHL General Managers.

WHL B.C. Division Second All-Star Team Biographies

Goaltender - Joshua Ravensbergen (Prince George Cougars): The product of North Vancouver, B.C., exploded onto the scene as a rookie, recording six shutouts before the calendar flipped from 2023 to 2024. Unselected in the WHL Prospects Draft, Ravensbergen went 26-4-1-1 with a 2.46 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 38 appearances this season. He was named Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the Week on December 4, 2023, and also earned back-to-back Giuseppe WHL Goaltender of the Week honours on October 30 and November 6, 2023. Ravensbergen, who turned 17 in November, is eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft.

Defence - Caden Price (Kelowna Rockets): In his third WHL season, Seattle Kraken prospect Caden Price enjoyed a career campaign, logging 55 points (13G-42A) in 62 games. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound product of Saskatoon helped the Rockets to a fifth-place finish in the WHL's B.C. Division. Selected by the Kraken in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Price has skated in 174 career WHL Regular Season games, recording 116 points (20G-96A). He was originally chosen by the Rockets in the second round (30th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

Defence - Viliam Kmec (Prince George Cougars): The 20-year-old product of Kosice, Slovakia, secured a career season on the blue line in Prince George, notching 34 points (9G-25A) and an impressive plus-39 rating in 58 games. Originally selected by the Cougars in the second round (104th overall) of the 2021 CHL Import Draft, Kmec has been a mainstay on the Prince George blueline, appearing in 180 games and posting 80 points (18G-62A) since 2021-22.

Forward - Terik Parascak (Prince George Cougars): The 17-year-old product of Lethbridge, Alta., finished first in scoring among all WHL rookies, recording 105 points (43G-62A) in 68 games. Aside from leading WHL rookies, Parascak's 105 points were good enough for eighth among all WHL skaters. Listed 14th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings for the 2024 NHL Draft, Parascak was named Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the Week on an impressive five occasions this season, including most recently on March 11, 2024. He was also named Tempo WHL Player of the Week on March 18, 2024. The 5-foot-11, 179-pound Parascak was originally selected by the Cougars in the fourth round (76th overall) of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Forward - Andrew Cristall (Kelowna Rockets): The 19-year-old prospect of the Washington Capitals recorded 111 points (40G-71A) to finish fifth in scoring among all WHL players. From November 3, 2023 through January 19, 2024, Cristall enjoyed a 23-game point streak, tallying 45 points (17G-28A) along the way. He was named Tempo WHL Player of the Week on two occasions (October 23 and March 11). By surpassing the 100-point plateau, the product of Burnaby, B.C., became the first Rocket to reach the century mark since Colin Long (2007-08). Selected by the Capitals in the second round (40th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Cristall has recorded 280 points (109G-171A) in 191 career WHL Regular Season contests. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound right winger was originally selected by the Rockets in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

Forward - Jaden Lipinski (Vancouver Giants): The 19-year-old prospect of the Calgary Flames paced the Giants in 2023-24, finishing with 66 points (24G-42A) in 67 games to sit tied atop the Vancouver scoring charts with Ty Halaburda. Lipinski, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound product of Scottsdale, Ariz., served as a steady presence for the Giants in this his third WHL season. Unselected in the WHL Prospects Draft, Lipinski signed with the Giants in April 2021 and has appeared in 201 career WHL Regular Season games, registering 134 points (51G-83A). Lipinski was selected by the Flames in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.

WHL Central Division Second All-Star Team Biographies

Goaltender - Reid Dyck (Swift Current Broncos): The 20-year-old prospect of the Boston Bruins played a vital role in the Broncos claiming their first Central Division title since the 1995-96 season, posting a record of 25-7-2-0 with a 2.70 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and two shutouts. The 6-foot-5, 193-pound puckstopper was named Giuseppe WHL Goaltender of the Week on two occasions (February 5 and February 26). Selected by the Bruins in the sixth round (183rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Dyck owns a career record of 49-46-5-1 with four shutouts in 106 career WHL Regular Season appearances. The product of Winkler, Man., was originally selected by the Broncos in the third round (45th overall) of the 2019 WHL Draft.

Defence - Noah Chadwick (Lethbridge Hurricanes): The 18-year-old prospect of the Toronto Maple Leafs recorded a career campaign in 2023-24, notching 56 points (12G-44A) to finish tied for 10th in scoring among all WHL defencemen. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound product of Saskatoon was selected by the Maple Leafs in the sixth round (185th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. Originally chosen by the Hurricanes in the second round (38th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Chadwick has skated in 146 career WHL Regular Season games, accruing 79 points (19G-60A) along the way.

Defence - Marc Lajoie (Edmonton Oil Kings): The 20-year-old product of St. Albert, Alta., finished third in scoring among all Oil Kings with 58 points (26G-32A) in 68 games. Acquired from the Tri-City Americans on May 11, 2023, Lajoie served as an alternate captain for the Oil Kings. In 283 career WHL Regular Season games, the 6-foot-6, 223-pound defenceman recorded 151 points (52G-99A). Lajoie was originally selected by the Tri-City Americans in the first round (14th overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft.

Forward - Oliver Tulk (Calgary Hitmen): With 40 goals and 80 points in 66 games, the product of Gibsons, B.C., led the Hitmen in scoring during the 2023-24 season. The 5-foot-9, 178-pound centre enjoyed four-point games on four outings, recording 19 multipoint games over the course of the entire season. Originally selected by the Hitmen in the first round (12th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Tulk has logged 159 points (73G-86A) in 197 career WHL Regular Season games.

Forward - Oasiz Wiesblatt (Medicine Hat Tigers): With 91 points (26G-65A) in 63 games, the 19-year-old Wiesblatt finished second in scoring on a high-flying Tigers squad. Wiesblatt's 65 assists represent a career high, obliterating the previous mark of 34 he set during the 2022-23 season. Originally selected by the Tigers in the first round (12th overall) of the 2019 WHL Draft, Wiesblatt has collected 185 points (65G-120A) in 218 career WHL Regular Season games.

Forward - Andrew Basha (Medicine Hat Tigers): The 18-year-old Basha finished third in scoring on the Tigers with 85 points (30G-55A) in 63 games. The 6-foot, 185-pound left winger enjoyed a season-high 11-game point streak from November 22, 2023 through December 27, 2023, recording 21 points (9G-12A). The product of Calgary, Alta., was named Tempo WHL Player of the Week on November 27, 2023. Originally selected by the Tigers in the fifth round (105th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Basha is listed 18th among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting's midterm rankings for the 2024 NHL Draft.

WHL East Division Second All-Star Team Biographies

Goaltender - Carson Bjarnason (Brandon Wheat Kings): The 18-year-old prospect of the Philadelphia Flyers secured a career-best 24 wins during the 2023-24 campaign, backstopping the Wheat Kings to a sixth-place finish in the WHL's Eastern Conference. The 6-foot-3, 202-pound netminder sign his NHL entry-level contract with the Flyers in September 2023 after being selected in the second round (51st overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. Passed over in the WHL Draft, Bjarnason has been the backbone of the Wheat Kings, going 53-46-10-2 with a 3.21 goals-against average, .900 save percentage and five shutouts in 116 career appearances dating back to 2021-22.

Defence - Charlie Wright (Saskatoon Blades): The 20-year-old product of Olds, Alta., helped guide the powerhouse Blades to a Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as he chipped in with 35 points (5G-30A) in 68 games this season. The 6-foot-1, 182-pound blueliner was originally selected by the Blades in the fourth round (70th overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft and has posted 104 points (15G-89A) in 256 career WHL Regular Season games.

Defence - Justice Christensen (Prince Albert Raiders): The 18-year-old product of Red Deer, Alta., was a steadying presence on the blueline for the Raiders, recording a career-high 45 points (13G-32A) in 68 games this season. Unselected in the WHL Draft, Christensen has been a nice find for the Raiders, posting 54 points in 132 career WHL Regular Season games since signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement in May 2022.

Forward - Atley Calvert (Moose Jaw Warriors): The 20-year-old hometown product became the highest-scoring Moose Jaw-born player in Warriors history this past season as he pushed his career totals to 220 points (105G-115A). With 95 points (47G-48A) in 68 games this season, Calvert recorded new career highs and finished 14th in WHL scoring. From January 17 through March 8, 2024, he cruised to a 21-game point streak, collecting 42 points (20G-22A) along the way. The impressive run helped Calvert to being named WHL Player of the Month for February. The 6-foot, 193-pound centre was unselected in the WHL Draft.

Forward - Sloan Stanick (Prince Albert Raiders): The 20-year-old product of Rapid City, Man., exploded for a career season in Hockeytown North, registering 84 points to go with a second-consecutive 30-goal season. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound left winger has been a force since landing in Prince Albert, notching 81 goals and 194 points in 196 games. Originally selected by the Everett Silvertips in the seventh round (145th overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft, Stanick has recorded 207 points in 274 career WHL Regular Season games, split between the Raiders and Regina Pats.

Forward - Brayden Yager (Moose Jaw Warriors): The 19-year-old prospect of the Pittsburgh Penguins emerged offensively in 2023-24, smashing his previous career best by recording 95 points in 57 games. For the second time in his WHL career, Yager surpassed the 30-goal plateau, hitting 35 goals. The 6-foot, 170-pound product of Saskatoon enters the 2024 WHL Playoffs riding an active 14-game point streak in which he has posted 33 points (10G-23A) dating back to February 21, 2024. Selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (14th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Yager has collected 250 points (104G-146A) in 211 career WHL Regular Season outings.

WHL U.S. Division Second All-Star Team Biographies

Goaltender - Scott Ratzlaff (Seattle Thunderbirds): The 19-year-old prospect of the Buffalo Sabres took the reins in the Seattle crease this season, appearing in a career high 52 games, logging 21 wins, a .905 save percentage and one shutout. The product of Irma, Alta., was named Giuseppe WHL Goaltender of the Week on January 29, 2024, after recording an impressive .960 save percentage in victories over the Wenatchee Wild and Everett Silvertips, including a career-best 62-save performance against Everett. Selected by the Sabres in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Ratzlaff owns a career WHL record of 64-36-2-2 with a 2.78 goals-against average, .908 save percentage and seven shutouts. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound netminder was originally selected by the Thunderbirds in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

Defence - Jeremy Hanzel (Seattle Thunderbirds): The 21-year-old prospect of the Nashville Predators led the Thunderbirds in scoring this season, recording 60 points (17G-43A) in 66 games. Establishing career highs in goals, assists and points, Hanzel stepped into a leadership role. Selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the sixth round (187th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Hanzel signed his entry-level contract with the Avs before having his rights traded to the Nashville Predators at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Unselected in the WHL Draft, Hanzel signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Thunderbirds in March 2020. In 218 career WHL Regular Season games, he has tallied 149 points (39G-110A).

Defence - Sawyer Mynio (Seattle Thunderbirds): The 18-year-old prospect of the Vancouver Canucks finished second in scoring among all Thunderbirds, trailing only his fellow blueliner Hanzel. Like Hanzel, Mynio stepped into a bigger role in 2023-24, establishing new career bests in goals (16), assists (37) and points (53). Selected by the Canucks in the third round (89th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft, Mynio finished second among all WHL defencemen with 11 power-play goals. Originally selected by the Thunderbirds in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Mynio has recorded 95 points (25G-70A) in 178 career WHL Regular Season games.

Forward - James Stefan (Portland Winterhawks): The 20-year-old prospect of the Edmonton Oilers surpassed the 100-point plateau this season, registering his first 50-goal season and adding 51 assists. With 101 points, Stefan finished tied for ninth among all WHL skaters, becoming the first Winterhawk to record 50 goals and 100 points since Joachim Blichfeld in 2018-19. Passed over in both the NHL and WHL Drafts, Stefan signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Winterhawks in November 2018. From there, he went on to score 256 points (111G-145A) in 254 career WHL Regular Season games en route to signing a free agent contract with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers on March 21, 2024.

Forward - Ben Hemmerling (Everett Silvertips): The 19-year-old prospect of the Vegas Golden Knights turned in a career season, posting 91 points (30G-61A) in 65 games. Selected by the Golden Knights in the sixth round (177th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Hemmerling's 91 points led all Silvertips. Originally selected in the third round (49th overall), the product of Sherwood Park, Alta., has tallied 207 points (64G-143A) in 199 career WHL Regular Season games.

Forward - Conner Roulette (Spokane Chiefs): The 20-year-old product of Winnipeg, Man., erupted for 108 points (45G-63A) in 68 games, finishing sixth in WHL scoring. From February 4 through March 12, 2024, Roulette strung together a 17-game point streak, tallying 31 points (10G-21A). Originally selected by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the second round (34th overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft, Roulette has collected 287 points (118G-169A) in 259 career WHL Regular Season contests with the Chiefs, Thunderbirds and Saskatoon Blades.
