Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Medicine Hat, AB - The ATB Financial Tigers Skills Competition is back again this year! The fifth annual Skills Competition will be held Tuesday November 24th for a 7PM start. It will mark the first skills competition at the Canalta Centre for the Tabbies.
Once again the event will be benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. This year's event will be donation based with the suggested donation being $5 at the door.
Over the past four years the event has raised $16,714 for the MS Society.
The skills competition was the started by a few former players who wanted to help raise funds to battle Multiple Sclerosis. The players felt very strongly about the cause as one of our former billets has been living with the disease for a number of years.
Not only did the event raise money for a great cause, fans were once again treated to some exciting action as Team Sanford defeated Team Cox in an overwhelming defeat as Sanford and company got out to an early 14-1 lead in one of the most creative Skills Competition yet.
The event featured a number of exciting highlights including a very creative shootout attempt by then rookie Mark Rassell as he pretended to be a commander from the video game Call of Duty. Dryden Hunt hit 90 MPH on the radar gun in the hardest shot or the surprising Blake Penner who outlasted the entire visiting team to win the Elimination Shootout.
This year's event is once again presented by ATB Financial. Come help out a great charity while watching the Tigers showcasing their skills and having some fun.
