Spokane Chiefs News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - Recently acquired goaltender Lasse Petersen turned away all 24 shots sent his way to give the Spokane Chiefs their first shutout win of the season as they topped the visiting Everett Silvertips 3-0 on Wednesday night. Forward Curtis Miske tallied the game-winner with a power play goal late in the second period.

Everett controlled play for the majority of the first 30 minutes, outshooting the Chiefs 11-3 in the first period and carrying that into the first half of the second. The Chiefs began to get some momentum after the ten-minute media timeout of the middle frame, capped by Miske's fourth goal of the season at the 16:10 mark.

The Chiefs pushed even harder in the third period, outshooting the Silvertips 17-6. Kolten Olynek potted his second of the season, also on a power play, at the 12:10 mark of the period, snapping one top shelf to the upper right corner from the left circle to beat goalie Carter Hart.

At the 19:19 mark of the third, Keanu Yamamoto pitchforked the puck down the center of the ice where younger brother Kailer was able to corral it over his shoulder and tap it in for an easy empty-netter.

The Chiefs finished the game 2-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. Everett's Hart made 29 saves against Petersen's 24.

The Chiefs hit the road on Friday to face the same Everett Silvertips before returning home on Saturday to face the Kelowna Rockets. It will be Coeur d'Alene Casino Native American Night at Spokane Arena and will also be the Jersey-Off-The-Back Auction Night.

Tickets for Saturday night and all Chiefs home games are available via TicketsWest, online at www.ticketswest.com and over the phone at 800-325-SEAT.
