
Thunder's Gale Named Player of the Month

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder learned Thursday that forward A.J. Gale has been named the Central Hockey League's Sher-Wood Player of the Month for December.
Gale led the entire CHL with 21 points in 13 December contests. The second-year pro is tied for 24th in the league with 31 overall points in 30 games.
On December 14th at Tulsa, Gale had two goals, three assists, and finished +4 in a 7-6 Thunder victory. The Nanaimo, British Columbia native rattled off a seven-game point streak from December 10th-26th in which he tallied six goals and eight assists.
The 23-year old Gale made his professional debut last season for the Texas Brahmas, scoring 25 points in 58 games. Gale's 15 goals ranked fifth among CHL rookies while his 25 points tied for eighth.
Gale played four years of junior hockey in his home province for the Nanailmo Clippers, scoring 77 goals and 74 assists (151 points) in 162 games. Prior to turning pro, Gale skated for St. Norbert College during the 2008-09 season, amassing 30 points in just 19 games. Gale also played two seasons at St. Cloud State University.
