Brahmas Sign Former All Star Darryl McArthur

The Texas Brahmas announced today the signing of former CHL All Star defenseman Darryl McArthur. McArthur is well known to Brahmas fans having played five full seasons with the Austin Ice Bats. His best offensive season came in the 2002-2003 season scoring 38 points including 14 goals and 24 assists while racking up 134 penalty minutes. McArthur ‚¬â„¢s last stop was with Muskegon of the IHL scoring 46 points during the 2008-2009 season.

"We are very excited to be able to add Darryl McArthur to our blueline," said Brahmas Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Dan Wildfong. "Darryl will provide us with great leadership and steady defensive play."

The Brahmas also sent goaltender Jeff Harvey and forward Matt Pierce to the Evansville Icemen. In exchange, the Brahmas will receive a player at the trade deadline in February as well as an additional player at the conclusion of the season.

Harvey played in six games with Texas going 3-3 with a 3.60 GAA. Pierce played 29 games this season with the Brahmas scoring five goals and adding eight assists. Brahmas goaltender

Wayne Savage will return to the active roster in time for Friday ‚¬â„¢s weekend series versus Odessa.

This weekend features two home games against the Jackalopes, both at 7:30 PM at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Friday night, the first 1000 fans will receive a free Brahmas Car Flag.
