TEMPE, AZ (January 6, 2011) -The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Quad City Mallards defenseman Darren McMillan has been added to the CHL All-Star Team roster for the upcoming 2011 CHL All-Star Game, scheduled for Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena in Rapid City, South Dakota (face-off is set for 6:35 PM MST). The game ¬â¢s format will feature the host Rapid City Rush (the defending CHL Champions) taking on a team of CHL All-Stars.
McMillan replaces teammate Mike McLean who will be unable to attend the game due to an injury. MacMillan, a resident of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, has two goals and eight assists this season in 31 games played. This will be the 6-0, 209-pound blue liners first CHL all-star appearance.
McLean was originally selected as a reserve forward with 11 goals and 17 assists in 26 games but an injury suffered in a game versus Missouri on December 23 forced him to the injured reserve.
