LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League start a two-game series with the Mississippi Riverkings Friday night at Laredo Energy Arena. Game time is 7:30pm.

The Bucks return home from a three-game series in Arizona where they finished 1-1-1 and earned three of six points. Laredo closed out the series and won their first game of 2011 Saturday night with a 6-3 victory over Arizona. The six goals by the Bucks matched their season-high.

The Bucks enter Friday's game four points behind Mississippi and Rio Grande Valley for sixth place and six points behind Texas and Tulsa for fifth in the Berry Conference standings.

The Bucks lost the first meeting with the Riverkings this season 5-4 in overtime in late November. The Bucks are 0-2-1 in their last three meetings with the Riverkings dating back to the 2008-09 season, with their last win against the Riverkings came in a 5-4 overtime win on February 1, 2008, when the Laredo came back from a 4-0 first period deficit.

Laredo is 6-2 all-time in their first home game of a new calendar year. The Bucks beat Mississippi 5-2 in their first-home game of 2008 during the 2007-08 season.

Neil Trimm, who will play in his first CHL All-Star game next week, enters Friday's game tied for fourth in the CHL in scoring with 43 points (11-3243). Trimm's 43 points ties his career high set in his rookie season in 2007-08 with New Mexico.

The Riverkings split a two-game home and home series with Bossier-Shreveport last weekend, falling 8-2 on New Year's night before earning a 3-2 shootout win the next day.

BOY SCOUT/GIRL SCOUT NIGHT SATURDAY

Saturday night (Jan. 8th) the Bucks host the Riverkings again on Boy Scout and Girl Scout night at the LEA. There will be a post-game skate with the entire Bucks team Saturday.

All Boy Scout tickets are $14, which includes a Bucks Zamboni patch and a concession voucher, with Boy Scouts family tickets just $10.

All Girl Scout tickets are $14, which includes a Bucks pink ice skate patch and a hot dog and soda, with Girl Scouts family tickets are $12 and include a hot dog and soda. Girl Scout cookie season kicks off on January 16th.

JR. BUCKS FUNDRAISER GAME JAN. 14th

Friday January 14th is the Jr. Bucks fundraising game when the Bucks host Rio Grande Valley at Laredo Energy Arena. All ticket vouchers for the game are just $12 with proceeds benefitting the Jr. Bucks. Visit the Jr. Bucks table in the concourse during Bucks games at the LEA to purchase your tickets!

PUCKS FOR AUTISM FEB. 12th

Saturday February 12th the Bucks will host their first-ever Pucks for Autism night when Laredo hosts Bossier-Shreveport at Laredo Energy Arena.
