ThunderBolts rout Grizzlies, take series

Multiple Grizzlies records were broken Tuesday afternoon in Crestwood, IL as the Windy City ThunderBolts destroyed the Grizzlies 22-2.

The Grizzlies suffered their worst defeat in franchise history (20 runs), allowing the most runs (22), the most hits (24) and the most RBIs by a single opponent (Justin Schuda-9).

The Grizzlies drop to 25-31. Windy City improves to 20-37.

Eric Dessau (3-2) suffered the defeat. Dessau gave up seven runs, five earned on nie hits in four innings of work. He walked two and struck out two. Matt Powell followed. Powell gave up eight runs on nine hits in three innings. Demetri White pitched the eighth. White gave up seven runs, six earned on six hits. He walked three.

Phil Warren and Ryan Sullivan had the only RBIs for the Grizzlies. Warren was 1-3, he drove in the run in the sixth inning on a double to the left field corner. Sullivan's RBI came in the second, he reached on an error, driving in a run in the process. Eric Sansouci, Mike Breyman, Gary Gilbert, Freddy Lopez and Shawn Smarsh each had a hit in the loss.

The Grizzlies will limp home to take on the Chillicothe Paints in a three-game series beginning Wednesday night at GMC Stadium. Game time all three nights is 7:05 p.m.
