The Freedom came into last night's game looking to clinch a series victory over the Chillicothe Paints, and Florence did just that, defeating the Paints, 2-1.

Not much scoring in this one, all Freedom runs occured in the sixth, on RBI singles by Matt Singer and Brandon Cornell. Cornell finished his day 2-4 with the difference making RBI. This game was all about pitching, Mike Dennison got the nod for Florence, he went seven innings, giving up one run on nine hits, striking out four. He picked up the win, he is now 6-5 with a 3.77 ERA. Luke Palmer also pitched great for the Paints, he went five and two/thirds innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out four. Nick Cavanaugh picked up the loss for Chillicothe. Mike Causey came in relief to get an out, and Ted Rowe closed down the game, for his ninth save of the season.

Former Paint Jamie Keefe and the rest of the Freedom bunch look for the sweep tonight in Chillicothe. Florence returns home to Champion Window Field tomorrow for a six game homestand, starting with the Windy City Thunderbolts. Here is promotional info for the Windy City series:
