Thunderbirds Acquire Kevin Lyde

Rio Rancho, NM - The New Mexico Thunderbirds announced today that they have acquired forward Kevin Lyde (6-10, 260, Temple) from the Sioux Falls Skyforce in exchange for guard Dominique Coleman.

Lyde played in eight games this season for the Skyforce and averaged 3.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 66.7% from the field. He began the season by playing three games in Argentina for Boca Juniors.

The Thunderbirds will be Lyde's fourth different NBA Development League team. His best season came in 2007-08 when he averaged 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 44 games, all starts. Lyde was also a member of the 2007 NBA Development League champion Dakota Wizards.

Lyde played four years at Temple University and was just the third player in Temple history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

The Thunderbirds will be back in action on Friday and Saturday against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, both games are at 7:30 p.m. at the Santa Ana Star Center. Friday will feature $1 hot dogs and $2 beers and Saturday fans can purchase an all you can eat wristband for just $10.
