RIVALRY- Wichita took care of its rivals this season. Wichita won the season-series against Tulsa 7-2-2 and went 3-0-1 on the road against the Oilers. The Thunder won all five meetings against Missouri at INTRUST Bank Arena and finished 8-1-1 against the Mavericks. Wichita went a combined 15-3-3 against its two biggest rivals.

YOUNG SETS RECORD - Kevin Young finished first overall for scoring by a defenseman in the CHL with 59 points (24g, 35a). Young scored twice on Sunday afternoon and set a new single-season record for goals scored by a Thunder blue liner. He surpassed Paul Esdale's total of 22 goals that was set back in 2004-05. The 30-year old White Rock, BC native was recently named as the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman and to the All-CHL Team.

NEW HEIGHTS- Neil Trimm finished eighth in the league in scoring (76) and third in goals scored (35). He came up a bit short in his attempt to reach a new career high, but still had a terrific season for the fifth-year forward. He was named as the Native Lights Casino Player of the Month for March as he finished with 20 points (9g, 11a), was +3 and had three goals on the power play.

HOME ICE ADVANTAGE- Wichita finished first in the league with 25 wins at home, which was five wins better than Fort Worth Brahmas who finished in second. For the second-straight season, the Thunder finished just short of reaching its franchise record for home wins. Last season, the Thunder had 24 wins at home. The record for home victories (26) was set back in 1993-94.

IRON MEN- Wichita finished with seven players playing in all 66 games this season, which was the most out of any other team in the league.

OFF DAYS- Wichita finished strong on non-traditional days during the week. The Thunder won in Allen earlier this week to secure a record of 6-0-1 on Tuesday nights and won last night against Missouri to finish perfect at home on Sundays this season (6-0-0 and overall going 9-0-1).

MOY- Travis Wight was selected as the CHL Man of the Year earlier this week. He has played in 198-consecutive games in a Thunder uniform, which is three full seasons. The record for most consecutive games played in Thunder history is Jason Duda at 225 from March 3rd, 2000 to November 18th 2003. Wichita has eight players that have dressed in all 62 games this season.

END OF YEAR- Last night, the Thunder handed out its End of the Year Awards. RG Flath and Travis Wight won the Community Service Award. The Glassrattler of the Year for the second-straight season was Dustin Donaghy. Earning the Most Improved Player Award was Jon Madden. Ian Lowe was selected as the Unsung Hero. Defenseman of the Year was Kevin Young. Steve Wright was named as the Fan of the Year. The Team MVP ended up being Neil Trimm.

LAST FIVE- Kevin Young leads the team in the last five games, recording eight points (4g, 4a) in that span. Chad Painchaud was right behind him with seven points (5g, 2a).

CLOSE CALLS- The Thunder will open the CHL Playoffs against the Sundogs later this week. Wichita and Arizona played just three times this year, but each game was decided by one goal. Two of the three games ended up in a shootout. The Thunder are 12-5-8 in one-goal games this season. Wichita finished 1-1-1 against the Sundogs.

MILESTONES- Summers recorded his 200th assist last night. Ian Lowe needs six points to reach 100 for his career. Travis Wight is two games shy of 400 for his career. Les Reaney is six goals shy of that same mark with 94 career goals. Nathan Lutz played in his 700th pro game last night. Kevin Young needs eight goals to reach 100 for his career.
