LAST WEEK'S GAMES -

Friday, March 15th

Wichita at Arizona, 4-3 L

-Matt Summers pulled Wichita even with a third period goal with just over three minutes remaining. The Sundogs wouldn't be denied as Chad Nehring tallied the game-winner with just over a minute left in the contest to secure Arizona a 4-3 win.

Saturday, March 16th

Wichita at Arizona, 4-3 W (SO)

-Wichita gave up a two-goal lead in the final five minutes of the game, but pulled out a shootout win over the Sundogs as Chad Painchaud scored the only goal in the first round of the shootout.

YOUNG NEARING MARK - Kevin Young leads all blue liners in scoring with 52 points (20g, 32a) and is nearing a single-season Thunder record. The single-season mark is held by Paul Esdale with 22 goals in 2004-05. Young moved into a second place tie all-time with Dave Doucette, who had 20 tallies in 1994-95. Young was recently nominated as a finalist for CHL Most Outstanding Defenseman.

NEW HEIGHTS- Neil Trimm continues to lead the team in points and can reach a new career high with eight more in the last four games of the season. The fifth-year forward has recorded 34 goals and 38 assists (72 points) through 62 games. His first penalty shot goal of his career was also his 100th goal as a professional.

CLOSE CALLS- Wichita and Arizona played just three times this year, but each game was decided by one goal. Two of the three games ended up in a shootout. The Thunder are 11-5-8 in one-goal games this season. Wichita finished 1-1-1 against the Sundogs. The two teams very well may face each other in an opening-round series in the playoffs. Playoff seeds have not been decided and may not be determined until the final day of the regular season.

SHOOTING FOR 26- Wichita leads the league with 24 home wins and has a chance to tie the franchise record of 26. The 1993-94 squad finished 26-4-2 overall and with two home games remaining, Wichita can equal that feat.

OFF DAYS- Wichita plays its final Tuesday contest in Allen tomorrow night. When playing on a Tuesday, Wichita is 3-0-1 on the road and a combined 5-0-1. The Thunder have one Sunday game remaining on the schedule, which is the final day of the regular season at home against Missouri. When playing on a Sunday, Wichita is 5-0-0 at home and 8-0-1 overall.

END OF THE ROAD- Wichita closes out its four-game road trip tomorrow, going 2-1-0 so far. After tonight, Wichita will travel to Tulsa on Saturday night for its final road game of the season. Over the last 10 road games, Wichita is 2-4-4. Overall, the Thunder is 12-13-6 away from home.

MOY- Travis Wight was named as a Man of the Year Finalist last week. He has played in 194-consecutive games in a Thunder uniform. The record for most consecutive games played in Thunder history is Jason Duda at 225 from March 3rd, 2000 to November 18th 2003 . Wichita has eight players that have dressed in all 62 games this season.

ROLLHEISER EARNS CALL UP- Grant Rollheiser was called up to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League on Sunday. The rookie netminder out of Boston University was invited to their training camp before the season began. In six appearances in Wichita, Rollheiser is 1-2-1 with a goals against average of 3.04 and a save percentage of .883.

LAST FIVE- Neil Trimm leads Wichita with 10 points (5g, 5a) over the last five. Ian Lowe has nine points (5g, 4a) while Matt Robinson has seven points (2g, 5a).

MILESTONES- Summers sits at 198 assists for his career. Ian Lowe needs 10 points to reach 100 for his career. Travis Wight is four games shy of 300 for his career. Les Reaney is six goals shy of that same mark with 94 career goals. Nathan Lutz is approaching 700 career games as he is four games shy. Dustin Donaghy needs one minute to reach 200 penalty minutes for his career. Aaron Boogaard is six games from playing in 300 for his career.

THUNDERBOLTS... Neil Trimm is tied for third in goals (34)...Ian Lowe is tied for second in power play goals (11) while Young is in fifth (10) and Flath is in ninth (9)...Wichita is first in goals scored (224)...Wichita is first in second period goals (87) and first in second period shots (737)...Wichita is first in goals for per game (3.61) and fourth in goals against per game (2.73)...Wichita is first in shots for per game (33.63) and first in shots against per game (26.26)...Wichita is 21-3-2 when leading after one...Wichita is 26-1-2 when leading after two periods...When trailing after one, Wichita is 9-11-0...When trailing after two, Wichita is 5-16-3...In 1-goal games, Wichita is 11-5-8...In 4-goal games, Wichita is 9-4-0...When scoring on the power play, Wichita is 23-8-4...
