QUACK TRACKS

On the Brink

The Mallards will clinch a playoff berth tomorrow night if they win their game against the Denver Cutthroats or lose that contest in overtime or a shootout or if the Bloomington Blaze loses its game against the Missouri Mavericks. The top eight regular season finishers qualify for the playoffs. The Mallards are tied with the Cutthroats for sixth place, eight points ahead of the ninth place Blaze. Both Quad City and Bloomington have four games regular season games remaining.

Tight

The Mallards and Cutthroats are one point ahead of the eighth place Arizona Sundogs. Both Denver and Arizona have three games left.

Award Winners

Mickey Lang was named to the All-CHL team today while Mike Hellyer was named to the league's All-Rookie team. Lang is a finalist for CHL MVP and Hellyer is finalist for Rookie of the Year.

Finishing Kick

The Mallards won five straight games- their longest winning streak of the season- before falling 8-5 in Bloomington last Tuesday. They have gone 15-8-2 over their last 25 games and have climbed three places in the standings in the process.

Home Sweet Home

The Mallards have won five straight home games. Yesterday's win over Missouri kicked off a stretch that will see the Mallards play four of their final five regular season games on home ice.

Familiar Faces

The Mallards played each of their last seven games against either Bloomington or Missouri, a stretch during which Quad City went 5-2-0. By the time the Mallards complete the regular season by playing three straight games against Bloomington this weekend, the Flock will have played ten of its final 11 games against either the Blaze or the Mavericks.

Yesterday's win was the Mallards' thirtieth of the season. The Mallards have won at least 30 games in each of their first three CHL campaigns.

Plus Four

With yesterday's win, the Mallards climbed four games over .500, matching their high water mark for the season.

Shorties

The Mallards scored two shorthanded goals last Friday against Bloomington to lift their league-leading season total to 15. Lang, who scored one of those two shorthand goals against the Blaze, is the individual league leader with six shorthanded goals on the year.

Penalty Shots

Lang's goal against Bloomington last Friday came on what was his second penalty shot - and the Mallards' third- in four games and his third- and the team's fourth- in a nine game stretch.

Between the Pipes

John Murray made 35 saves yesterday on the way to his second shutout of the season and the Mallards' fourth. Neil Conway's five-game winning streak ended with last Tuesday's loss at Bloomington.

Fire Power

The Mallards, who earlier this season ranked last in the league offensively, have scored at least five goals in three of their last four games and in five of their last seven. The Mallards' third goal in yesterday's game- scored by Mike Hellyer- was their two hundredth of the season. Quad City now ranks third in the league in goals scored (203) and has produced an average of 3.3 goals per game.

The Mick

Lang has ripped off nine goals in his last eight games and totaled 13 points during that stretch. He has recorded at least two points in five of his last seven games.

Perd-fect 10

Anthony Perdicaro's ten-game point-scoring streak (4-11-15) ended with last Friday's game against Bloomington.

Special Teams

The Mallards rank seventh in the league on the power play (16.0 percent) and fourth in penalty killing (84.2 percent).

Leaders

Lang leads the league in shorthanded goals (6) and game winning goals (9), ranks second in goals (38), is tied for second in power play goals (11), is tied for fourth in points (78), is tied for sixth in plus/minus rating (+17) and is tied for seventh in assists. Matt Duffy is tied for eighth in plus/minus (+16). Among rookies, Hellyer leads the league in points (59) and assists (36) and ranks third in goals (23) while Mike Stinziani ranks second in goals (24) and points (47). Among defensemen, Duffy is tied for fourth in points (39), is tied for fifth in assists (30) and ranks seventh in goals (9). Murray is tied for fifth in save percentage (.914).

Milestones

Mallards coach Terry Ruskowski coached his seven hundredth career CHL game last Friday against Bloomington. Ruskowski earlier this season topped 600 career professional coaching wins and 400 career CHL coaching victories... Obi Aduba reached 150 points as a Mallard by notching a goal and an assist last Tuesday against Bloomington. Aduba has scored 93 career goals...Matt Boyd has recorded 97 career points.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards are 3-1-0 against Denver and have won both of their home games against the Cutthroats...The Mallards have gone 7-8-1 against the Blaze so far this season. The Mallards have gone 2-6-1 in Bloomington and 5-2-0 at home against the Blaze. All-time, the Mallards are 40-21-3 against Bloomington.

Ins and Outs

Jason Kostadine was suspended from the Mallards' last two games after being penalized for a check to the head last Friday against Bloomington. Kostadine is eligible to return tomorrow night...Patrik Levesque (upper body injury) returned to action last Friday against Bloomington after missing 11 games.

John Deere Community Night

Friday, the Mallards will team with John Deere for the team's annual John Deere Community Night. Fans who wear green to Friday's game to show their support for John Deere and the Mallards- and bring a "Green Out" to the i wireless Center- can purchase tickets to that game for just $10 at the i wireless Center box office.

$1 Beer, $1 Dog College Night

All fans will be able to purchase hot dogs and beer for just $1 at i wireless Center concession stands through the end of the second intermission. In addition, college students can purchase tickets to the game for just $10 in person at the i wireless Center box office or by calling the Mallards' business office at 309-277-1364.

Sunday, March 24, 4:05 p.m. - Mallards vs. Bloomington

Fan Appreciation Day

The Mallards will show their appreciation for the fans of the Quad Cities with a series of prize giveaways and other surprises during Sunday's regular season finale.

Family Skate Day Presented by Genesis Health System

Fans will have the chance to join all their favorite players on the ice immediately after the end of the Mallards' game against the Blaze with another Family Skate Day.

Post-Game Event: The Doc's Inn Bar & Grill

Fans can join the Mallards after Sunday's game at a postgame event at The Doc's Inn Bar & Grill. The Doc's Inn is located at 985 Avenue of the Cities in Silvis.

Sunday MetroLINK Service

Fans can now use special MetroLINK service from five area bars- Rascals, Governor's, Icons, Leisure Time and The Doc's Inn- to get to all remaining Mallards regular season Sunday games and back after the game. Fans are dropped off across the street from the i wireless Center at Centre Station at 3:45 p.m.- each of the Mallards' Sunday home games starts at 4:05 p.m.- and are picked up at Centre Station at 6:45 p.m. for the return trip. The fare for Metro routes is just $1 one-way, or $2 round-trip. Pre-paid passes can be purchased at Centre Station, which is located at 1200 River Drive in Moline.

ON THE AIR

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of the Mallards. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230 due to conflicts with

University of Illinois basketball and football. Free audio webcasts of games that do not air on AM 1230 are available at myqcmallards.com. CHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.com.

Single Game Tickets

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season contests are now available. Fans can contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364 or tickets@myqcmallards.com for more information about both season and single game tickets. Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $13 in the upper level, $18 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates.

Group Tickets

Groups of at least ten can receive savings off the walk-up price and a host of other great group benefits.
