Bloomington, Ill. - The Stars earned a point in the standings, but lost in the shootout, 3-2, in Bloomington on Saturday night.

Neither team scored in the first period, though the Stars took a 9-5 shot advantage into the locker room.

Patrick Curry opened the scoring for the Thunder with a power play goal at 3:02 of the second period. Curry's shot from the slot beat Stars goalie Peyton Jones off the left pad.

Lincoln responded later in the period when Henry Bowlby, Grant Jozefek and Will D'Orsi connected for D'Orsi's 14th goal of the season at 15:19 of the second.

The Thunder quickly powered back, breaking the tie 36 seconds later. Sean Harrison's goal made it 2-1 for Bloomington before the second intermission.

D'Orsi scored his second of the night one minute into the third period when Tanner Laczynski fed a pass from the left circle that D'Orsi tapped by the left pad of Lavigne.

The 2-2 score held through the remainder of regulation and sent the game into overtime where the teams traded chances but neither could find the game-winner.

The Thunder tallied twice in the first two rounds of the shootout to take the extra point on home ice.

Jones finished with 23 saves.

The Stars return to the Ice Box on April 1 against the Waterloo Black Hawks. For tickets and more information log on to lincolnstars.com.
