Trenton Thunder News Release

Trenton, NJ - RHP Hector Noesi tossed a complete game to finish a three game sweep of Binghamton on Sunday afternoon in front of 5,464 at Waterfront Park. Trenton (38-23) has won seven straight and used a six-run sixth inning in the 10-2 win over the Mets.

Noesi scattered nine hits, walked just one and allowed two runs in the victory. Binghamton was held scoreless through the first six innings until a homerun from Eric Campbell broke up the shutout.

Pitching in a rehab appearance for Binghamton, RHP John Maine held Trenton to just one hit over four innings of work and struck out five. RHP Brad Holt relieved Maine, and was touched up for six Thunder runs in the sixth inning. The scoring for Trenton was highlighted by a three-run triple from Jose Gil. Two runs reached base via walks by Holt, and another on a hit by pitch.

After Eric Campbell hit a solo home run off RHP Noesi to put the B-Mets on the board, Trenton answered right back in the bottom half. Brandon Laird doubled with one out and, Edwar Gonzalez hit a two-run homer over the left field wall to extend Trenton's lead to 8-1 after seven innings.

The Thunder plated two more runs in the eighth inning, as both Justin Christian and Daniel Brewer knocked in a run each to give Trenton a 10-1 lead. The Mets tacked on an unearned run in the ninth inning as Noesi struck out Jose Coronado to end the game.

After an off day Monday the Thunder will welcome the top team in the Western Division, the Altoona Curve, to Waterfront Park on Tuesday night at 7:05 PM. RHP David Phelps makes the start for the Thunder, while the Curve go with RHP Tim Alderson.
