'Wolves Swept by Fisher Cats

The SeaWolves dropped their seventh consecutive game as they were swept by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Sunday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park.

The Fisher Cats struck first in the top of the second inning against Erie starter Andy Oliver. Shawn Bowman led off with a double and he scored on a two-out single by David Cooper giving New Hampshire a 1-0 lead.

The 'Wovles tied the game in the bottom of the fifth against New Hampshire starter Zach Stewart. Deik Scram walked with one out and moved to third on a Josh Burrus single. Scram then scored on a sacrifice fly by Andy Bouchie making it a 1-1 game.

New Hampshire would regain the lead in the seventh when Bowman led off and homered off of Oliver to make it 2-1. New Hampshire would go on to plate four more runs in the inning as Cooper and Jonathan Jaspe and Calix Crabbe each collected an RBI hit making it 5-1.

The 'Cats added an insurance run in the ninth to go ahead 6-1 as Cooper homered to right-center.

Oliver (5-4) allowed three runs on five hits with a walk and seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.

The SeaWolves have now lost 20 of their last 23 games.
