Harrisburg Senators News Release

Carlos Rojas scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth inning, and the Bowie Baysox completed a three-game weekend sweep of the Harrisburg Senators on Sunday evening at Metro Bank Park, winning 3-2. The game was played in front of a crowd of 4627.

Bowie (33-30) never trailed in the game, and took its first lead in the fourth inning, when Tyler Henson drove home Ryan Adams with an RBI single. Adams had doubled to lead off the inning-it was the first of three leadoff doubles for the Baysox on the evening.

That fourth inning chased Ross Detwiler from the game, after he had pitched very well through his first three innings. Detwiler, currently on the 60-day DL for the Washington Nationals, was making his first AA rehab start for the Sens, and took a no-decision.

After the Baysox had doubled their lead with an RBI single from Caleb Joseph in the fifth inning, the Senators (29-34) struck back with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. That run came on a solo shot from Marvin Lowrance; it was his third home run of the year. The Sens then tied the game in the seventh, when Brad Coon drove in Edgardo Baez on an RBI groundout, making the score 2-2.

Rojas' run in the ninth gave Bowie the lead again, and ultimately handed reliever Pat Egan (6-1) his sixth win of the year. For the Sens, Zech Zinicola (1-1) took the loss.

The Senators have an off day on Monday, and then take to the road. They face the New Britain Rock Cats on Tuesday evening, for the first game of a four-game series that includes a Wednesday doubleheader. On Tuesday, Andrew Kown (1-2, 4.05) is scheduled to start for the Sens, against Deolis Guerra (1-2, 2.41) of the Rock Cats. The first pitch is set for 6:35 PM, and fans can hear all the action starting at 6:20, on the radio on 1460 AM The Ticket and online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
