Thunder Makes Two Deals At Deadline

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder were busy at today's CHL trade deadline, acquiring defensemen David Victor and Peter Kennedy in a three-team deal.

The Thunder sent forward Alex Goupil to the Laredo Bucks for Victor and forward Rane Carnegie, and then traded Carnegie to the Mississippi RiverKings for Kennedy.

A 6-3, 205-pound rookie out of The Pas, Manitoba, Victor notched five points and 81 penalty minutes in 37 games this season with the Bucks. Prior to turning pro, he played two seasons with the QMJHL's Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, amassing 31 points and 271 penalty minutes in 124 games. Victor played college hockey last season at Acadia University.

A 6-2, 207-pound native of Brookfield, Nova Scotia, Kennedy had three assists and was +2 in 15 games with the RiverKings this season. Kennedy played all 64 games with the New Mexico Scorpions last season, notching 18 points and a +2 rating.

Goupil was leading the Thunder this season with 13 goals. Both Kennedy and Victor will join the Thunder in time for this weekend's three-game set. The CHL trade deadline was today at 3:00 p.m.

The Thunder returns to action for a Tuesday morning game at the Oklahoma City Blazers.
