Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Announced

February 11, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 10th, 2008 are center David Beauregard of the Tulsa Oilers and goaltender Brett Jaegar of the Texas Brahmas.

Beauregard is the first Oilers player to win the weekly award since Jim Dahl did it back in January of 2006. The Montreal native helped the Oilers to a 3-0 record this past week scoring four goals with two assists. In Tuesday's School Day game versus Rocky Mountain, Beauregard scored twice and had an assist in Tulsa's 4-2 win. The 6-0, 190-pound forward had two more goals and an assist in Tulsa's 4-3 victory over Rio Grande Valley on Friday night. For the season, the veteran is tied for the team lead with 23 goals and ranks second with 46 points.

Jaegar had a career-best week going 3-0 including back-to-back wins versus the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. It was the Mudbugs first losses in 24 games (23-0-1 over that stretch). Jaegar allowed six goals in his three victories and stopped 78 of 84 shots (.929). The Peace River, Alberta native started the week making 35 saves in a 5-3 road victory at Youngstown. He then combined to make 43 saves on 46 shots in turning away the Mudbugs on both Saturday and Sunday. For the season, the 5-10, 190-pound goaltender is 6-4-0 with a 2.08 goals against average.

In recognition of their achievements, both Beauregard and Jaegar will receive a special gift from Oakley.
