
Bucks Made Deadline Deals: Acquire Goupil From Thunder

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League were busy at the trading deadline, making two separate deals involving four different players.
The biggest deal for the Bucks involved acquiring forward Alex Goupil from the Wichita Thunder, in exchange for forward Rane Carnegie and defenseman David Victor. Goupil is flying into Laredo Monday night, and should be in the line-up Tuesday when the Bucks travel to Rio Grande Valley.
Goupil is a fourth year pro, who spent three seasons in the UHL where he put up 139 points (73 goals 66 assists). This season with the Thunder the Ottawa, Ontario native has played in 43 games, scoring 13 goals with 12 assists for 25 points.
In each of his three season's in the UHL, Goupil scored at least 23 goals, including netting 25 goals in both the 2004-05, and 2005-06 campaign's.
Carnegie heads to Wichita having played in 46 of the Bucks 48 games this season, scoring 13 goals with 16 assists for 29 points.
Victor heads to Wichita having played in 37 games for Laredo, with one goal and five assists, to go along with 81 penalty minutes, and a minus-seven rating.
In a separate deal the Bucks sent defenseman Gabe Yeung to Odessa for future considerations. Yeung signed with Laredo on January 25th, and played in just six games, with 35 penalty minutes.
The CHL trading deadline was 3pm Monday afternoon.
The Bucks begin a three game road trip Tuesday night in Rio Grande Valley, before heading to Corpus Christi Friday night, with a re-match in Rio Saturday night.
