Trenton Thunder News Release

(Binghamton, NY)- Binghamton used a three-run 5th Inning off Thunder starter Charlie Isaacson en route to a 4-2 win over the Thunder on Saturday night. The loss was the third in a row for Trenton... their first three-game losing skid since late April.

Trenton (26-23) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a run in the 1st Inning on a solo homer by RF Bronson Sardinha, his 6th home run of the season and an RBI double by 1B Eric Crozier in the 4th Inning. Mets starter Ken Chenard (4-4) allowed two runs over five innings, but didn't qualify for the win until the B-Mets rally in the fifth.

Binghamton (23-22) started the inning with back-to-back singles. Later, they scored their runs on an infield hit by 2B Aarom Baldiris, a fielder's choice on a bunt by SS Anderson Hernandez and an RBI double by DH Prentice Redman. Isaacson (1-2) allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings in defeat. He walked one and struck out five.

The Mets tacked on an insurance run as LF Jeff Duncan drew a walk and was bunted to 2nd Base. He stole 3rd base and scored on a single by CF Wayne Lydon. The Thunder had runners on base in each of the last four innings, but couldn't get the tying run across. Mets closer Tim Hamulack worked the final 1 2/3 innings for his sixth save.

The Thunder and Mets continue their series on Sunday night at 7:00 PM. Matt Smith (1-3) starts for Trenton against the B-Mets Orlando Roman (1-1).
