
Thunder Extend Radio Coverage

Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced an agreement with 1460 AM WIFI to broadcast 20 regular season Thunder games, and all Trenton Thunder post-season game during the 2009 season. WIFI will also carry the Eastern League All-Star Game from Waterfront Park on July 15th. All broadcasts will be streamed live on wifi1460am.com.
"We are very excited to extend our broadcast coverage deeper into Burlington County," Thunder General Manager/ C.O.O. Will Smith said. "Establishing a radio network will give more fans in the region the opportunity to follow the Thunder on their quest for a third consecutive championship."
1460 AM WIFI is based out of Florence, NJ. The station format is Renaissance Radio and covers: Finance, Sports, Music, Variety, Espanol, Religion and Health. WIFI 1460 has a broadcast coverage of 5,000 watts and provides coverage from the Delaware River all the way to the Jersey Shore. Towns served by WIFI include Florence, Burlington City, Willingboro, Delanco, Riverside, Delran, & Cinnaminson as well as many others. WIFI has been on the air since 1990. Trenton continues a three-game series tonight against the Akron Aeros (Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians). RHP Christian Garcia (0-0, 0.00) will make his season-debut for the Thunder against Akron RHP Hector Rondon (5-1, 1.95). Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. Tickets are also on sale for the 2009 Eastern League All-Star Game, which will take place at Waterfront Park on July 15th at 7:05 p.m.
The Thunder have announced that all kids will eat for free at Waterfront Park all season long. All children with a ticket, ages 12 and under, will receive a voucher upon entering the ballpark good for a free hot dog, bag of potato chips and a 12 oz. fountain soda at all 71 Thunder home games this season.
The Thunder are the only team in Minor League Baseball history at the Double A Level or below to draw over 400,000 fans for 14 consecutive seasons and have draw over 6 million in attendance in its 15-year history.
