Stockton Thunder News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska * Alaska Aces (30-6-3, 63 points) center Alex Leavitt's five-point night sent the Stockton Thunder (6-22-5, 17 points) to a 6-3 loss to Alaska in the final game before the All-Star break, before a crowd of 5,619 at Sullivan Arena on Saturday.

Leavitt, who continued a tear of a series against the Thunder with a goal and four assists on the night, aided in the first goal's setup on Joe Talbot's marker for the Aces at the first period's 1:58 mark. The Thunder responded by tying the game at 1-1 at the 12:25 mark, when Mike Lalonde's incredible effort enabled the All-Star left wing to sweep the puck from off his stomach past Aces goalie Matt Underhill.

Mike Scott's power play goal gave Alaska a 2-1 edge at the first period's 18:38 mark, whereupon Alaska stepped on the gas offensively. Ryan Ramsay hiked Alaska's lead to 3-1 on the power play again with 13:30 gone, after poking in a loose puck under Thunder goaltender Jeff Weber. Leavitt then padded the lead to 4-1 on a breakaway goal with 4:02 left.

Justin Maiser's blast from the slot made it 5-1 for the Aces at the third period's 5:13 clip, which brought the Thunder offense to life. Maris Ziedins finished an up-ice rush with a 25-foot bomb from the right circle to cut the Alaska lead to 5-2 with 7:46 gone. Cam Keith responded with a tap-in goal at the 10:23 mark, pushing Alaska's four-goal cushion to a 6-2 score.

Geno Parrish then finished off the scoring for Stockton with a power play goal at the 12:16 mark, wristing a 60-foot shot that beat Underhill from the blueline.

Nathan Martz's three assists led the Thunder offense in individual scoring.
