Thunder Defenseman Dan Ringwald Loaned to Oklahoma

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announced defenseman Dan Ringwald (REENG-wald) has been loaned from the Thunder to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Ringwald, 25, should be available to suit up for the Barons tonight, who host the Rochester Americans at 5:00 p.m. PT.

The 6-foot-2 and 190 pound blueliner has collected nine points (2g-7a) in 12 games at the ECHL level while posting eight penalty minutes.

He has suited up in seven games for Oklahoma City, collecting two assists and made his AHL debut on Nov. 3 at Abbotsford.

Ringwald signed by the Thunder as a free agent on Aug. 25, 2011. He skated last year under an AHL contract with Hartford/Connecticut and was loaned to the Thunder on Oct. 31, 2010. After making his ECHL debut with the Greenville Road Warriors, he finished the 2010-11 campaign leading all rookie Thunder defensemen with 23 points (1g-22a) in 61 games while totaling 27 penalty minutes.
