
Idaho's Kuhn Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jerry Kuhn of the Idaho Steelheads is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 19-25.
The 25-year-old was 4-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.08 and a save percentage of .943 as the Steelheads improved their season-long winning streak to six games.
Kuhn opened the week with 25 saves in regulation and overtime and four saves on four shootout attempts in a 2-1 win at Utah on Monday. He followed that up with back-to-back games of more than 40 saves in a 4-3 shootout win against Alaska on Wednesday and a 3-2 overtime win over the Aces on Thursday. Kuhn ended the week with 35 saves, and four stops on five shootout attempts, in a 4-3 victory against Alaska on Friday.
A native of Southgate, Mich., Kuhn is 10-6-3 with one shutout, a 3.23 goals-against average and a save percentage of .920 in 20 appearances with Idaho this season. He leads the ECHL with 726 saves and is second with 1,169 minutes played.
Under contract to Connecticut of the American Hockey League, Kuhn is 12-9-3 with a 3.29 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914 in 25 career ECHL games with Idaho and Greenville.
Runners Up: Kyle Jones, Colorado (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .942 save pct.) and Nick Niedert, Elmira (1-0-0, 1.90 GAA, .923 save pct.).
