
ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspensions.
Chicago's DiDiomete fined
Chicago's Devin DiDiomete has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #182, Chicago at Cincinnati, on Dec. 22.
DiDiomete was assessed a game misconduct for abuse of officials under Rule 39.5 at 15:48 of the second period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Chicago's Lutz fined
Chicago's Nathan Lutz has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #182, Chicago at Cincinnati, on Dec. 22.
Lutz was assessed a game misconduct for abuse of officials under Rule 39.5 at 15:48 of the second period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Cincinnati's Liambas fined, suspended
Cincinnati's Mike Liambas has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #182, Chicago at Cincinnati, on Dec. 22.
Liambas was assessed a major and game misconduct - Charging, under Rules 42.3/42.5 at 15:48 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Liambas will miss Cincinnati's games against Kalamazoo on Dec. 27 and at Toledo on Dec. 30.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Cincinnati's Vaive fined
Cincinnati's Justin Vaive has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #182, Chicago at Cincinnati, on Dec. 22.
Vaive was assessed a major and game misconduct - Kneeing, under Rules 50.3/50.5 at 18:52 of the first period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Florida's Donald fined, suspended
Florida's Ryan Donald has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #275, Trenton at Florida, on Dec. 23.
Donald was assessed a game misconduct - aggressor, under Rule #46.2 at 18:41 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Donald will miss Florida's game at Greenville on Dec. 29.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Florida's Poss fined
Florida head coach Greg Poss has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions following ECHL Game #275, Trenton at Florida, on Dec. 23, and for published comments made following the game.
Poss is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline and under Rule 7(a) - Coaches Conduct, in the ECHL Playing Rules.
Colorado's Penner fined, suspended
Colorado's Alex Penner has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #247, Colorado at Utah, on Dec. 16.
Penner was assessed a major and game misconduct - Head Butt, under Rules 47.4/47.5 at 10:27 of the second period. Following the penalty, Penner used an obscene gesture towards the Utah bench. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Penner will miss Colorado's games at Alaska on Dec. 28 and Dec. 30.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Utah's Sorteberg fined, suspended
Utah's Matt Sorteberg has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #247, Colorado at Utah, on Dec. 16.
Sorteberg was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding under Rules 41.3/41.5 at 14:50 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Sorteberg will miss Utah's games against Bakersfield on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
South Carolina's Ryan fined, suspended
South Carolina's Billy Ryan has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #281, South Carolina at Gwinnett, on Dec. 26.
Ryan was assessed a penalty for elbowing at 5:17 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplemetary Discipline.
Ryan will miss South Carolina's games at Greenville on Dec. 27 and at Gwinnett on Dec. 28.
