(Binghamton, NY)- A five-run 6th Inning off the Thunder bullpen gave the Binghamton Mets a 5-2 win on Wednesday night over the Thunder in Eastern League play. The loss, combined with a Portland, shaves Trenton's lead in the Northern Division to 7 1/2 games.

Thunder starter Dan McCutchen, making his Double-A debut blanked Binghamton (46-62) over the first five innings. McCutchen scattered four hist with two walks and seven strikeouts. The Thunder (65-43) gave him a 2-0 lead in the 2nd Inning. C Omir Santos doubled and scored on an error by Mets 1B Mike Carp. 3B Aarom Baldiris, who reached base on the error, later scored on a sacrifice fly. Meanwhile, Mets starter Salvador Aguilar survived the early trouble and got through six innings for the win. Aguilar (6-5) allowed two run (one earned) on five hits. he walked one and struck out two. Tim McNab followed with two scoreless innings before Carlos Muniz blanked Trenton in the 9th inning for his 22nd save.

The B-Mets loaded the bases with one out against Tim Lavigne in the 6th Inning on two walks and an error. RF Caleb Stewart then cleared the bases with a three-run double to put the Mets ahead, 3-2. LF Jamar Hill then added an RBI single, folowed by a run-scoring double from 2B J.E. Cruz to complete the inning. Lavigne (0-2) took the loss allowing five runs (four earned) in 1/3 inning.

Joba Chamberlain joined the Thunder for an outing tonight. He worked a 1-2-3 8th inning, recording two strikeouts and a ground out ona broken bat from Mets CF Miguel Negron.

The series concludes on Thursday at 7:05 PM. Jeff Marquez (11-6, 3.15) starts for Trenton against Binghamton's Bobby Parnell (1-4, 5.16).
