Thunder Clipped on Late Goal

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder lost 4-3 to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the Kansas Coliseum on Saturday night. Killer Bees' forward Travis Banga scored a tie-breaking goal with just 20.7 seconds left on the clock, which proved to be the game winner. Defenseman Bryan Nathe scored two goals, while Jason Duda picked up a goal and an assist.

Tim Boron took the tough loss, saving 30 of 44 shots. Wichita outshot Rio Grande Valley 44 to 34. The Thunder scored two power play goals, giving them seven in their last three games.

The Thunder hit the ice next Thursday when they take on the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs for the first time this year. Opening faceoff at the Century Tel Center is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Coverage can be heard locally on 1410AM KGSO and worldwide at www.wichitathunder.com
