Thunder Announce Details Around Pucks for Paws Night

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New Jersey Devils, announced today details around Pucks for Paws Night, to be held on Saturday, March 31.

Pucks for Paws Night is a new promotion for the Thunder this season. Fans can get $15 tickets by visiting echlthunder.com/animalrescue and $5 from each ticket sold at this link will be donated to a charity of the buyer's choice, as selected on the form. Additionally, the Thunder are collecting items at the game for local animal shelters. While supplies last, fans that donate one of the following items at the game will receive an exclusive Pucks for Paws Night T-Shirt, presented by Helping Paws Veterinary Hospital, Invisible Fence of Northern New York and Streamlined Graphics.

Below is a full list of items being collected:

Clean Blanket / Bedding Dry Food for Cats / Dogs Treats Cat / Dog Toys Cat Litter Wash Cloths / Towel Grooming Supplies

Pucks for Paws Night will begin with a pre-game event in Heritage Hall, which will be set up with tables of eight local animal-related businesses. Thunder fans can visit with all of the participating businesses prior to the game to network and communicate about any questions or needs regarding pets or becoming a pet owner.

The following businesses will be at the pre-game event:

Pucks for Paws Night will also feature two additional giveaways at the doors. The first 1,000 fans 14 and under receive a cheer stick, courtesy of Word of Life. The first 2,500 fans of all ages will also receive a 2017-18 Adirondack Thunder team poster, presented by Glens Falls Printing.

The game will begin with a ceremonial puck drop by Tom Davis, owner of Upstate Canine Academy, and his dog Thompson. The Thunder will also hold a wiener-dog race on the ice during the first intermission and will honor Steve Caporizzo as the Hero of the Game during the second period. Caporizzo is the founder and operator of Steve Caporizzo's Pet Connection, a local group that works to find new homes for abandoned cats and dogs. Caporizzo is also a local weatherman with ABC 10.
