Thunder Allow 4 in the 9th, Lose 10-6

TRENTON, NJ - Trenton loses back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 10-6 loss to the Akron Aeros on a Wednesday matinee at ARM & HAMMER Park.

With the game tied 6-6 in the 9th inning, reliever Danny Burawa came out for his second inning of work. Burawa, who pitched a scoreless 8th, did not retire any of the four batters he faced. All four scored in the inning as Akron took the lead and then padded it for reliever Jose Flores who pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning.

Trenton trailed 6-2 in the 7th inning, but scored four times to tie the game off reliever Rob Whitenack who was making his first appearance with the Aeros. The inning started with a walk and three hits from Tyler Austin, Kyle Roller, Rob Segedin and Kevin Mahoney. Mahoney's single drove home Roller and Segedin, and Mahoney later scored on Casey Stevenson's RBI single to tie the game.

The Thunder finish their seven-game home stand at ARM & HAMMER Park with a 5-2 record to put them at 8-5 on the season.

The team hits the road for a seven-game road trip starting Thursday night with a four-game series at Erie. At 6:35 p.m. LHP Matt Tracy (1-1, 8.44) will start for the Thunder against RHP Derek Hankins (0-1, 1.93) for the Seawolves. Radio coverage on 91.3 FM (WTSR) and also streaming online begins at 6:35 p.m.
