Three Vipers Earn Spots on All-NBA Development League Showcase Teams

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The defending NBA Development League champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Friday that Jeff Adrien (6-7, 245, UConn) has been named to the All-NBA Development League First team while Jerel McNeal (6-3, 200, Marquette) and Mustafa Shakur (6-4, 195, Arizona) were named to the All-NBA Development League Second Team.

Adrien averaged 25.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal while hitting 20-of-32 (62.5%) shots from the field and 10-of-13 shots (76.9%) from the foul line.

McNeal averaged 24 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists while hitting 14-of-35 (40%) shots from the field, including 5-of-10 (50%) from behind the arc. He also hit 15-of-18 (83.3%) of his free throw attempts.

Shakur averaged 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks while hitting 11-of-23 (47.8%) shots, including 3-of-7 (42.9%) from behind the arc and 15-of-19 (78.9%) from the foul line.

The Vipers swept their two Showcase games for the first time in franchise history, beating the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 100-97 on Monday and the Erie Bayhawks 124-106 on Wednesday at the South Padre Island Convention Centre.
