
Flash Rally from 22 Down to Beat Stampede

The UCCU Events Center was roaring tonight as the Utah Flash won their second overtime game this season against the Idaho Stampede. The final score was 100-96. The Flash, who trailed by 22 points during one stretch of the game, rallied late to get the victory. Ronald Dupree was the game's high scorer with 22 points.
The Stampede outscored the Flash by 10 (28-18) in the first quarter. Tony Gaffney led in scoring for the Flash with eight, while Brandon Costner and Brian Hamilton both had two rebounds. The Stampede were led by Jermareo Davidson and Seth Tarver with six points apiece; Davidson also led in rebounds with six.
Although the Flash and Stampede both scored 26 points in the second quarter, the first half ended with the Stampede leading 54-44. Orien Greene, Andre Ingram and Pape Sy led the Flash's scoring rally with six points each; Sy also lead in rebounds with four. Carlos Wheeler led the Stampede with 10 points in the second quarter.
The Stampede pulled away from the Flash during the third quarter, 77-59. Idaho had the game's largest lead of 22 points during the third.
The fourth quarter was the deciding factor in the game. The Flash came back from a 22-point deficit and by the 8:10 mark in the fourth quarter Utah closed gap to just 10-points. With less than six and a half minutes to play, Greene made it a four-point game with a three-point jumper. The Stampede didn't let down, holding on to the lead until Dupree tied the game with 90-90 with 20 seconds left. After a missed jumper from Antoine Walker, the Flash gained possession of the ball sending the game into overtime.
The Flash rallied against the Stampede, outscoring them 100-96 in overtime.
Willie Jenkins and Davidson were the Stampede's high scorers with 17 points each. All five starters for the Flash scored in double digits, including 22 from Dupree and 20 from Greene. Greene also had six rebounds, eight assists and six steals on the night.
The Flash recently returned from the NBA D-League Showcase in South Padre Island, Texas. Greene was named to the NBA D-League Showcase Second Team; Dupree and Ryan Thompson were named as NBA D-League Showcase Honorable Mentions.
