
Three Thorns FC Players Called up for National Team Duty

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC announced today that forwards Christine Sinclair (Canada), Alex Morgan (United States) and defender Rachel Buehler (United States) have been called up by their respective national teams for upcoming international friendly matches.
All three players will miss Sunday's match against Seattle Reign FC at JELD-WEN Field, the last of three straight home games for Portland. The trio is scheduled to rejoin the team prior to an away match against Sky Blue FC on Saturday, June 22.
Sinclair, 29, joins the Canada Women's National Team for an international friendly on Wednesday, June 19, against FIFA No. 2-ranked Germany at Benteler Arena in Paderborn, Germany.
Morgan, 23, and Buehler, 27, have already joined the U.S. Women's National Team for training camp in Boston ahead of a match on Saturday against Korea Republic at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The international friendly will be carried live on ESPN3 at 4 p.m. (Pacific).
Midfielder Tobin Heath, who is set to join Thorns FC later this summer, is also part of the roster for the United States.
Following Saturday's game, the United States faces Korea Republic a second time on June 20 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. The match will be televised live on NBC Sports Network at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific).
