Three points for Perrin, but Bears fall to Amerks, 4-3

Despite two power play goals from Pascal Trepanier, the HERSHEY BEARS fall to the Rochester Americans, 4-3 at Blue Cross Arena. The Amerks got on the board early in the first period and the BEARS were forced to play catch-up the rest of the way. Eric Perrin had three assists to give him 62 points on the year. He is only three points behind Miroslav Zalesak of Cleveland for the AHL scoring lead. Peter Budaj took the loss for the BEARS, making 24 saves on 28 shots.

Rochester would begin the scoring just 2:37 into the first period and take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Steve Brule would tie things up 1-1 at 3:46 of period two. His goal was assisted by Eric Perrin and David Masse. The Amerks would follow with two goals of their own in the second period to lead 3-1 after two periods.

HERSHEY would answer just 34 seconds into the third period with Trepanier's first power play goal of the night. Perrin and Clark would add assists to make the score 3-2. Rochester would fight back to take a 4-2 lead. Trepanier would score his second power play goal of the period at the 13:43 mark of the third stanza. This goal would mirror the first as Perrin and Clark also assist on Trepanier's 10th goal of the year. Perrin would figure in on all three BEARS' goals with three assists on the night. Peter Budaj would absorb the loss. His record stands at 15-18-6.

The BEARS return home Saturday and Sunday to face the Albany River Rats and Binghamton Senators, respectively. Come out and support the BEARS as they head into the most exciting stretch of the season. Game time is 7:00 pm on Saturday and 5:00 pm on Sunday.
