
Myrvold returns to Griffins

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday announced that the Detroit Red Wings have assigned defenseman Anders Myrvold to the American Hockey League club.
Myrvold, the 13th member of the Griffins summoned by Detroit this season, became the 11th to play for the Red Wings during last night's 2-1 win at Calgary. Appearing in the 26th NHL game of his career and the first since the 2000-01 season, he went scoreless with a minus-one rating while logging 11:20 of ice time.
The 28-year-old has played 58 games for Grand Rapids this year, notching 16 assists, 76 penalty minutes and a plus-three rating. He is expected to rejoin the Griffins' lineup tonight when they host the Chicago Wolves at 7:30 p.m. at Van Andel Arena.
