Hamilton is winless now in past five games

CLEVELAND, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs winless streak has been extended to five games as they lost 5-2 to the Cleveland Barons at the Gund Arena on Friday night. For the second consecutive game the Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead into the third period and ended up losing.

Leading the way offensively for the Barons on Friday was Marcel Goc, who scored three points on two goals and one assist. Also scoring for Cleveland were John DiSalvatore with a pair of goals, as well as Tavis Hansen had a single marker.

Tomas Plekanec and Philippe Plante scored the Bulldogs goals.

Bulldogs goaltender Olivier Michaud made 22 saves in the loss. Michaud's record now falls to 4-5-2 on the season. Nolan Schaefer, who was the game's first star, stopped 38 shots for the Barons. For the second consecutive game, the Bulldogs opposing goaltender was named the first star. On Thursday, Toronto Roadrunners goaltender Stephen Valiquette was named the first star.

The Bulldogs record through seven games versus the Barons stands at four wins and three losses. Cleveland has 66 points on the season and trails the North Division leading Bulldogs by just six points.

On the power play the Bulldogs scored once on two opportunities. Cleveland failed to score on their two chances with the man-advantage.
