
Three Dust Devils Selected to NWL All-Star Team

The Northwest League has released the 2016 All-Star roster for the second annual Northwest League vs. Pioneer Baseball League All-Star Game taking place on August 2nd. Three members of the Tri-City Dust Devils, shortstop Chris Baker and right handed pitchers Emmanuel Ramirez and Diomar Lopez have been selected to represent the NWL in this year's All-Star Game.
Baker, a 17th round pick out of the University of Washington has been outstanding this year as he leads the Dust Devils with a .292 batting average and has recorded 38 hits. He has solidified the shortstop position for the Dust Devils as he has played in 36 of a possible 38 games during the first half of the NWL season.
Ramirez, who re-joined the Dust Devils this season after a stint in Fort Wayne, has been dominant against NWL competitors all season. He has recorded a 4-1 record with a 2.62 ERA in eight appearances, and leads the Dust Devils in both innings pitched (44.2) and strikeouts (42).
Lopez, has been outstanding out of the Tri-City bullpen this year, posting a 4-0 record with a 2.42 ERA. He has recorded 22 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched. He was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent from Nicaragua in 2014.
The 2016 Northwest League vs. Pioneer Baseball League All-Star Game will take place at Linquist Field in Ogden, Utah on Tuesday, August 2nd. First pitch is scheduled for 6:15pm with a Home Run Derby before the game at 4:15pm. Dust Devils fans can listen to the game by going to the Ogden Raptors TuneIn Radio station or watching on MiLB.TV.
"Ogden is proud to host the game and looks forward to showing our friends from the Northwest League the best Lindquist Field and Ogden have to offer," said Ogden Raptors president, Dave Baggott. "It will be a big project for us but we will be excited and ready for the game."
All eight NWL teams are represented on the roster, including Vancouver's Cavan Biggio, the son of Hall of Fame second baseman Craig Biggio, and Boise's Garrett Hampson, a third-round pick in this year's draft. Other notables include Hillsboro reliever Taylor Mark, the 24th ranked prospect in Arizona's farm system, and Spokane's Chad Smith, the youngest hitter in the league at just 18-years-old. The projected starting lineup for the Northwest League is:

* 1B Jacob Bosiokovic, Boise Hawks, representing the Colorado Rockies
* 2B Cavan Biggio, Vancouver Canadians, representing the Toronto Blue Jays

* SS Garrett Hampson, Boise Hawks, representing the Colorado Rockies
* OF Ashford Fulmer, Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, representing the San Francisco Giants
* OF Eric Filia, Everett AquaSox, representing the Seattle Mariners
* OF Robert Garcia, Eugene Emeralds, representing the Chicago Cubs
