Owen Sound Attack News Release

The National Hockey League's Central Scouting Department released their midterm draft rankings of North American skaters and Steven Shipley, Joey Hishon and Geoffrey Schemitsch have all found their way onto the list.

Steven Shipley was the highest ranked member of the Attack at number 44. The 3rd overall pick in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection is in his second OHL season and has collected almost a point per game, notching 14 goals and 28 assists for 42 points. The 6'2" power forward competed for team OHL in the Subway Super Series against the Russian Selects and has also been selected to participate in the Home Hardware Top Prospects game next week in Windsor, ON.

Despite missing over two months with a broken foot, Attack centre Joey Hishon came in two positions behind his teammate at number 46. The Stratford, ON. native has 8 goals and 15 assists for 23 points in just 21 games played this year and will also be representing the Attack at the Home Hardware Top Prospects game next week in Windsor, ON. Hishon was the Attack's first round draft pick in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection.

Coming in at number 169 is rookie defenseman, Geoffrey Schemitsch. Schemitsch, who was a walk-on during this year's training camp after going undrafted into the OHL has come out of nowhere and impressed scouts with his poise and decision making skills. Schemitsch, 17, leads all Attack defenseman with 32 points in 44 games and sits 11th in defenseman scoring and tied for first in OHL Rookie scoring. With a strong second half, Schemitsch will no doubt find himself moving up a lot of NHL team's lists.

The Attack would like to congratulate all three players for being recognized and wish them the best of luck in the remainder of the season.
