The Guelph Storm announced today that for forward Michael Latta is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 10th.

Latta was the top Storm point getter this weekend recording five goals and one assist for six points in two games played. On Friday night in Saginaw, the St. Clements native was named third star of the game for tallying twice in the Storm's 5-4 loss to the Spirit. Recording his first hat trick of the year, Latta found the back of the net three times and helped set up Francis Menard for his third of the season on Saturday night in the Soo. Named the first star of the game, the 18 year old scored three of his team's six goals in the Storm's 6-3 victory over the Greyhounds.

With 33 points on the season, Latta sits tied with Mathew Sisca for second on the Storm in scoring. Producing at just over a point per game pace, the Predators 2009 3rd round pick is second on the team in plus/minus with a +7 rating.

Next up, the Storm plays two home games this upcoming weekend hosting the Owen Sound Attack on Friday night before the Sudbury Wolves make an appearance on Sunday that will be broadcast nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.
