TAMPA, Fla. - Dom Thompson-Williams and Hoy Jun Park each drove in a pair of runs, but the Tampa Tarpons lost, 8-4, as the Clearwater Threshers completed a four-game sweep on Wednesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Tampa (20-26, 55-61) went 0-7 on the home stand and has now lost eight-straight games. Clearwater (29-16, 61-52) wins the season-series, 11-4, and jumps into first place in the North Division Second-Half Standings.

LHP Dalton Lehnen made the start and needed only nine pitches in a perfect first inning, but ran into trouble soon after issuing a leadoff walk in the second. One out later, a walk and a fielder's choice put runners on the corners with one out. A run then scored when Jose Gomez reached on a fielding error by third baseman Daniel Barrios.

Lehnen retired seven of the next eight batters he faced before allowing a leadoff double by Gomez in the fifth. A single and a fielder's choice loaded the bases with no outs and Mickey Moniak pulled a two-run double into the right field corner. One out later, Henri Lartigue reached on a strikeout/wild pitch, plating another run.

RHP Kyle Zurak entered in relief and was greeted by an RBI single to right by Luke Williams. A base hit loaded the bases and a groundout by Raul Rivas scored a run, giving the Threshers a 6-0 lead. Gomez walked to reload the bags before a groundout ended the frame.

Lehnen (L, 0-3) allowed six runs (five earned) on three hits in four and a third, walking three while striking out three on 86 pitches (54 strikes).

RHP Ramon Rosso retired the first 11 batters he faced before Thompson-Williams reached on a hit-by-pitch in the fourth. Ben Ruta ended the no-hitter with a leadoff double in the fifth, but was stranded.

Barrios and Estevan Florial both singled and Diego Castillo walked, loading the bases with one out in the sixth. A walk by Thompson-Williams scored Barrios, prompting a pitching change by Clearwater.

RHP Grant Dyer (H, 5) entered in relief and, one out later, Hoy Jun Park rolled a two-run single into center, cutting the deficit to 6-3.

Rosso (W, 4-1) allowed three earned runs on three hits in five and a third, walking two while striking out seven on 94 pitches (57 strikes).

Zurak worked around a one-out walk in the sixth, but left the game after allowing back-to-back singles with one out in the seventh. RHP Braden Bristo entered and, one out later, a walk loaded the bases. Grenny Cumana followed with a two-run single into center, giving the Threshers an 8-3 lead.

The Tarpons got one back when Thompson-Williams clobbered a solo home run over the wall in left-center off RHP Blake Quinn in the eighth. It was the 23-year-old's 15th home run of the season (10th since joining Tampa).

Bristo tossed a 1-2-3 eighth before RHP Christian Morris entered in the ninth. A pair of walks led to an RBI single by Kevin Markham, tallying the ninth Clearwater run. Morris got a groundout and a fly out to strand a pair.

LHP Jonathan Hennigan stranded a leadoff walk by Park in a scoreless ninth to close out the game.

Thompson-Williams (1-for-2, HR, BB, HBP, 2RBI, R) has hit safely in six-straight games. Park (1-for-3, BB, 2RBI) also reached base twice.

Up next, the Tarpons visit LECOM Park for four games against the Bradenton Marauders. RHP Nick Nelson (5-4, 3.57) will get the nod in the series-opener against RHP Evan Piechota (0-2, 4.94) on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Live play-by-play audio will be available on the Tarpons Radio Network.

Tampa will then visit the Palm Beach Cardinals for a four-game series before returning home to host the Daytona Tortugas for three games, beginning on Monday, August 17th at 6:30 p.m. On "Dollar Dog Night," bring your dog to the game with the purchase of a $1 Dog Ticket.
