
Hammerheads Take Series Finale 4-0

JUPITER, Fla. - The Jupiter Hammerheads shut out the St. Lucie Mets 4-0 on Wednesday at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
Jupiter starter Brady Puckett fired seven scoreless innings. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out two while throwing 92 pitches.
Anfernee Seymour hit a two-out RBI single in the third inning to put the Hammerheads up 1-0. Seymour delivered a two-run triple in the fifth to make it 3-0. Riley Mahan followed with a sac fly to plate Seymour for the game's final run.
Mets starter Anthony Kay was solid in the defeat. He struck out seven batters over six innings. He scattered five hits and walked just one.
Gene Cone went 2 for 3 with two singles, a walk and two stolen bases.
Dan Rizzie went 3 for 4.
Mike Paez went 0 for 4. His 18-game hitting streak was snapped.
The Mets loaded the bases with one out in the eighth inning but Jorgan Cavanerio got a shallow fly out and a strikeout to stop the Mets rally.
Cavanerio also stranded two runners in the ninth. He picked up his second save.
Matt Pobereyko and Trey Cobb each tossed a scoreless inning out of the Mets bullpen.
The Mets (18-26, 45-66) and Hammerheads (18-25, 59-53) start at series at the Clearwater Threshers on Thursday. First pitch from Spectrum Field is set for 7 p.m.
