Anderson Advancing to Mississippi

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 8, 2018) -The Atlanta Braves have announced the following roster moves that affect the Florida Fire Frogs roster:

Ian Anderson , RHP, has been transferred from Florida to Mississippi.

Daysbel Hernandez , RHP, has been transferred from Rome to Florida.

Anderson, 20, appeared in 20 games for the Fire Frogs, posting a 2-6 record, but putting up the second-best ERA in the Florida State League with a 2.52. The third overall pick in the 2016 draft paced the league with 118 strikeouts and a 1.13 WHIP. Atlanta's third-ranked prospect (MLB.com) was twice named Pitcher of the Week in the Florida State League, with both honors coming within the last month (July 2-8 and July 30-Aug. 5).

The native of Rexford, N.Y. tied a career-high with 11 strikeouts when he fanned 11 Jupiter Hammerheads on July 3, and tossed a career-best, 7.2 no-hit innings against the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Aug. 1.

Hernandez, 21, makes his second trip to Florida after being placed on the Fire Frogs' roster on June 3 and transferred to Rome on June 9. The right-hander made 13 relief appearances at the Low-A level, posting a 1-0 record with a 3.33 ERA (9er/24.1ip).

The native of Cuba made on appearance at the High-A level on June 4, allowing three runs on two hits a walk and four punchouts across two frames against the Bradenton Marauders at LECOM Park.

Florida will welcome in the Fort Myers Miracle for game one of a four-game series beginning Thursday night. LHP Tucker Davidson (6-9, 4.72) will look to play the role of "stopper" for the Fire Frogs against the Miracle's RHP Brusdar Graterol (3-2, 4.22). First pitch is scheduled for 6:31 p.m., with coverage beginning at 6:15 p.m. with the Florida Fire Frogs Pre-game Show on the Florida Fire Frogs Broadcasting Network.
