Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

BELOIT, WI -- Wisconsin Timber Rattler starting pitcher Justin Thomas went seven strong innings and kept the Beloit Snappers line up off balance for his first Midwest League win in the Rattlers 7-1 victory at Pohlman Field on Wednesday night. Casey Craig homered and had three hits for the Rattlers. Jeffery Dominguez also had three hits, while scoring three runs. Keeping with the theme of threes, Ron Garth drove in three runs for the Rattlers.

Mike Saunders put the Rattlers in front 1-0 with a two-out RBI single in the top of the third inning.

Craig made it 2-0 when he crushed a 1-2 pitch from Snapper starting pitcher Brian Duensing to right field for his second home run of the season. Later in the inning, Garth drove in two more Wisconsin runs with a double to left

Beloit (4-3) got on the board with an RBI double by Caleb Moore in the bottom of the fourth. But that was all they would get on the night.

Wisconsin (4-3) got that run back in the top of the sixth on an RBI groundout by Garth. A dropped popup later in the sixth allowed another Rattler run to score and give Wisconsin a 6-1 advantage.

Bryan Sabatella padded the Rattler lead with a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning.

That was more than enough offense for Thomas. The lefty out of Youngstown State matched his career high for strikeouts with six and allowed one run on five hits without a walk.

Ruben Flores bounced back from a blown save on Tuesday night to toss a scoreless eighth. Harold Williams finished off the Snappers with a scoreless ninth.

The Rattlers return home to begin a three game series with the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Wisconsin has Paul Fagan (0-0, 5.79) slated to start Thursday's game. The Kernels will counter with Kelly Shearer (0-0, 1.80). Game time at Fox Cities Stadium is 6:35pm.
