Thomas leads Record Six Twisters Players on All-af2 Teams

(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters placed a team record six players on the All-af2 first and second teams as announced by the arenafootball2 league office.

Twisters' defensive back Pierre Thomas was the lone first team selection. He finished the season with a career high 105.5 tackles and a team leading nine interceptions. He returned one interception for a touchdown and also had 22 total pass breakups.

The Twisters had five players selected to the All-af2 second team; WR Jon Schoonover, FB Terrance Freeney, Mack linebacker Reggie Cooley, Jill linebacker Kevin Williams, and DB Jason Simpson.

Schoonover led the team in receiving with 1207 yards and was second with 22 touchdowns. Freeney led the team in rushing, including a team record 89 yards rushing performance against Corpus Christi. Reggie Cooley finished with team highs of 7.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and four recovered. Kevin Williams finished with a career high tying seven interceptions and Jason Simpson broke the af2 single season record for tackles with 142.5.

The Twisters tied with three other teams with a league high six players being selected. Arkansas has never had more than two on any given All-af2 selections in the past.

Arkansas finished the 2007 season with a 12-4 record, most wins in the regular season and hosted a playoff game for the first time in four years.
