April 18, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Arkansas Diamonds News Release

Kicker Brian Umstead hit three field goals and the offfense picked up touchdowns from Graylin Allison and A. J. Harris and the Diamonds took sole possession of the Lonestar East Division in the Indoor Football League with a 23-10 victory over the San Angelo Express.

The Stampede Express got on the board first after Tommy Staples kicked an 18 yard field goal to give San Angelo a 3-0 lead. After that, Umstead went to work hitting two field goals in the second quarter as the Diamonds offense struggled to score points.

In the third quarter, the Diamonds seemed to get untracked. Running back A. J. Harris bowled in from the one yard line to give them a 13-3 lead, however, San Angelo responded with a touchdown of their own making the score 13-10.

The Diamonds separated themselves from the home team in the fourth quarter with a touchdown and a field goal along with a punishing defense that kept San Angelo quarterback Chad Draper on his back all night. Diamonds quarterback Willie Copeland tossed his ninth touchdown of the year when he hit Graylin Allison with a five yard touchdown, and Umstead hit his third field goal from 45 yards to set the score.

The defense forced two fumbles and had a total of three sacks led by Luis Vasquez who had two. The defense also had five pass break-ups, two by former Razorback Vickiel Vaughn.

The win gives the Diamonds a 5-1 record and a two game lead over the Stampede Express. The Diamonds will return to action next week when they travel to Abilene to play the Roughnecks.

The Arkansas Diamonds is Arkansas' only professional football team playing each home game in Verizon Arena. The Diamonds are a member of the Indoor Football League. Fans can keep up with the Diamonds at the team's website www.ARDiamonds.com.
