McCombs and Munson Named to All-af2 First Team

BAKERSFIELD, CA - DB Nathan Munson (Upper Iowa, '00) and DL Ben McCombs (Mid America Nazarene, '01) have both been named to the American Conference All-af2 First Team, as voted on by af2 head coaches and members of the media.
Munson finished the season tied for first in interceptions in the league with 14 and finished eighth in passes defended with 32. He also recorded 50.5 tackles and two forced fumbles for the Blitz in 2007.
McCombs ended his season with 12.5 sacks, enough to finish sixth in the league. McCombs was also eighth in the af2 with four fumbles recovered and tenth in tackles for loss with 13.
The 2007 ArenaCup playoffs continue this weekend with the American and National Conference Championship games this Saturday, August 18th. In the American Conference Championship, the Green Bay Blizzard will travel to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers at 4:00 PST. The National Conference Championship will feature the Central Division champion, Tulsa Talons, playing host to the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings at 5:00 PST. The winner of each Conference Championship will meet at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, LA on Saturday, August 25th for ArenaCup8.
