Third Straight Win, 3-1 over Delmarva

May 22, 2012 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - A 1st inning home run by Nicky Delmonico was the only run the Delmarva Shorebirds would score in a 3-1 BlueClaws victory

The BlueClaws scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd and 4th inning to erase a 1-0 lead and take the ballgame running away on the back of Ramon Oviedo's Lakewood debut. Oviedo tossed six innings of one-run ball to earn the victory for the BlueClaws in front of 4,513 fans at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws- now 17-25 on the season- are riding their second three-game winning streak of the season and are now 10-9 at FirstEnergy Park in 2012.

The BlueClaws and Shorebirds battle in the final game on the abridged two-game series after Monday's rainout. The BlueClaws will send Kenny Giles (0-2, 4.67) to the mound against Parker Bridwell (2-2, 5.19) before opening a four-day, six-game series Thursday against the Hagerstown Suns. First pitch for Wednesday's morning game is scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
