Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The Leinie Lodge is going through some major changes in early May. A donation was made by a local sponsor to upgrade the Third Base Picnic Area for the 2007 season. The NEW Third Base Deck will now rival the First Base Deck as the hot spot to be at Pohlman Field.

Construction of the new deck began on May 4th and with completion of the deck scheduled for May 18th, the Snappers' staff is sure it will be another great place at Pohlman Field to enjoy a game. (Leinie Lodge will be closed May 12-13)

"We are all excited to see how this turns out," said General Manager Jeff Vohs. "We're both anxious and confident that this new picnic deck will help bring in more fans and more excitement. With our All-You-Can-Eat Specials at the Leinie Lodge on Wednesday and Thursday nights it should make for a great way to break it in."

Don't forget, every Wednesday and Thursday nights are our All-You-Can-Eat Specials at the Leinie Lodge. For just $20 you will receive a general admission ticket and an all you can eat & drink menu including: hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, chips, peanuts, soda, and BEER courtesy of Hooter's and WJVL.

On Sunday, May 13th, following the Double Header vs. Kane County at 2:00 pm, 200 people will have the opportunity to go on field and pick up a plastic egg. One of those plastic eggs will have a voucher for a Blue Diamond worth $1,600. All of the other eggs will have randomly selected prizes from Brill Jewelers and the Beloit Snappers. To be part of the 200 people you must purchase a $5 raffle ticket by phone at 608-362-2272 or stop by Pohlman Field located at 2301 Skyline Drive in Beloit.

In just 11 days, Hall of Famer and former Chicago Cub, Ryne Sandberg, will be coming to Beloit. As the new manager of the Peoria Chiefs, Sandberg will be here May 19th through May 20th, as well as June 21st through June 24th. Get your tickets now!
