
Brett Martinez promoted to Rancho Cucamonga

The Cedar Rapids Kernels announce that catcher Brett Martinez has been promoted to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League effective Tuesday, May 8th.
Martinez played in eight games for the Kernels, batting .192 with a triple and six RBI.
It was also announced today by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim that former Kernel Bobby Wilson was being placed on the DL at double-A Arkansas and former Kernel Flint Wipke was promoted from Rancho Cucamonga to Arkansas.
No replacement player has been announced for Martinez. The Kernels active roster stands at 24 players, one below the Midwest League maximum.
